What keeps the USD going?

Notes

  1. risk of quantitative easing
  2. currence collapse: lack of faith in stability or usefulness of money - either to store value or as a medium of exchange (Ross)
  3. USD not backed by commodity but 'Government Fiat'
  4. USD is a reserve currency (along with Euro, JPY, RMB by IMF 2016)
  5. Bretton woods
  6. Greatest risk: high inflation with high debt – but other countries that export to US (e.g China) would not want it to fail
