SAMs 3 month programme

1. didactic teaching
2. chicken femoral artery - SAMS scoring
3. 60 points

Structured programme

1. 12 weeks
2. weekly progress
3. 4 step progress: needle dexterity, economy of movement, operative flow, operative judgement
4. uses models that are easy to produce
5. chicken thigh - end to end, end to side, then discrepancy
6. patency check using blackberry juice

Self training

1. at least 1 hour a week
2. take break after each hour

Too many different things - why not just a simple model

1. discrepancy, arteriotomy

Comments:

1. no spread of results
2. did practice hours –> correlate with results?

Points:

1. Regular training helps –> score is better
2. but final assessment also on chicken thigh – ? transfer of skills
